Ever since the kids headed back to school, we have been invited to several birthday parties, eight to be exact. Keep in mind this is only October and there are eight more months until the school year is over. That means at least another twenty-five more parties to attend.  What is it about birthdays and turning four years old that makes every parent want to throw their kids birthday parties? Looking back at my childhood, I didn’t get a birthday party until I was at least ten years old, and if I remember correctly it was the only one my parents ever threw for me. My, how things have changed in the past thirty years.

Over the weekend I took my kids to Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. It was the first time that I’ve taken the girls, and boy oh boy did the kids really enjoy it. There are many water-themed rides as well as regular kiddie rides to entertain your entire family. And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, the folks at Sesame Place also conduct many shows throughout the day featuring different characters such as Elmo, and Abby Cadabby. With only a few weeks of school let and a rapidly-filling schedule, Big Sister E is already turning into one of those kids who is going to be jetting all over town to one activity after another all summer.
