I always love this time of year when all the kids in our neighborhood and at my daughter’s school get dressed up for Halloween in a spider man, witch, princess or ladybug costume to name a few. October thirty-first marks a day when kids and adults alike can be as silly and imaginative as they want by expressing themselves through make-up, costumes, and loads of accessories. Over the weekend, we staged our daughter’s birthday party at Bounce U, an incredible inflatable bounce center where young and old can bounce alike and not feel silly about who’s watching. For party favors, I decided to give each child in attendance a water bottle personalized with their name and cute icon to match–cupcakes for the girls, and pirates for the boys. The party favors were a huge hit; the children literally clamored for them. As an added plus,  I loved that the bottles are environmentally friendly. A practical gift that will be around for a long time.

Kids Labels : Identify your Child’s Belongings In Style With I.D. Me Labels and Tags!

Last Tuesday was bittersweet for me as I dropped off my two toddlers at pre-school. Our fun-filled summer days of spending hours at the community pool, doing arts and crafts, field trips, watching cartoons, playing outside and sleeping in were now over. Hearing my older one saying multiple times that she doesn’t want to go to school made me feel a little sad, however the thought of someone else watching over them and giving me a break doesn’t sound that bad either. As I walked each of them to their classroom, the excitement of seeing their old friends and teachers seem to evaporate their anxiety.  Ninja-like, I was able to disappear without neither of them crying. That’s a win in my book. Now, if the remaining drop-offs can be so easy . . . . . . . . . .

With my obsessive issues over not losing items, just seeing the amount of things left there makes my palms sweat. This lost-and-found is large enough that it is separated into bins, one for shirts, one for socks, one for cups, etc, etc. I try not to look at it and think of the feelings those moms had when they got home and realized not all of their child’s possessions came with them because it makes my heart race a little bit.
