“Disney On Ice”
January 16th, 2010
When I was a young girl I can remember always wanting to see Disney On Ice. The television ads especially fueled my desire to see Cinderella, Snow White, Mickey Mouse, Ariel, and Belle, to name a few. Unfortunately, because we were poor, my sisters and I never had the opportunity to go.
Today, I was proud to realize a childhood dream by taking my two toddlers to Disney on Ice, and they absolutely loved it. In fact, I never saw them so focused and non-fidgety at an event. It was truly priceless to experience our childrens’ animated expressions of joy in seeing their favorite characters in person. Here are some pictures of our day 30 years in the making.

My daughter the Shoe-dini!!!
January 5th, 2010Ninety-nine percent of the time my youngest daughter removes her shoes and socks in the car. To “outsmart” her, I have tried velcro boots, laced sneakers, and buckled sandals to no avail. Sophie would give Houdini a run for his money; not bad for a two-year-old. Last week her one shoe was missing. I exhaustively searched my house and car without success. Hummmm. Two weeks later my sister informed me that her maid found the shoe underneath her sofa. Apparently, my daughter had taken off her shoe in my mom’s car and it ended up at my sister’s house somehow. The only way my sister could identify the sneaker was by Sophie’s ID Me label attached to the velcro strap! Needless to say, thank goodness for shoe-strap labels!

Storing Christmas Decor
January 5th, 2010
My kids and I enjoy decorating our house for the holidays every year, but when it comes to taking down the lights, ornaments, and decor it always seems a lot less exciting and rather boring. I really don’t look forward to this project because somehow putting all the holiday items in storage, always requires more work than putting them away. Sounds very similar to the law of physics, right? What goes up must come down.” To make the break-down process easier on myself, I had custom bin labels put on two huge plastic storage containers that reads, Christmas Decor. Labeling the storage boxes are highly functional when you have ten other containers that look exactly the same in the basement. Every year when Christmas time approaches, I know which container to take down from the shelf and where to put them away.
